Are you ready for an Elf-inspired holiday dessert pizza that’s allergy-friendly? I definitely am! My family loves making unique dessert pizzas to celebrate special occasions! This easy allergy-friendly Christmas dessert pizza was one of my all-time favorites. In every bite, there’s a bit of melted dark chocolate sunflower seed butter, gooey toasted marshmallows, and minty candy canes! The recipe below has step by step instructions for how to make the best gluten-free dessert pizza, as well as tips to avoid a dry or soggy crust. I recommend baking the crust and sunflower seed butter first. Second, add marshmallows and put the pizza back in the oven to allow the marshmallow layer to melt slightly. Lastly, switch the oven to broil for several minutes, so the tops of the marshmallows will get nice and toasty. You will not believe how easy this recipe is to make and how amazing it tastes!
What You Need to Make an Allergy-Friendly Christmas Dessert Pizza:
- Gluten-free pizza crust: When making dessert pizzas, I like using crusts that are naturally soft chewy. My all-time favorite crust is the 10 inch original pizza crust from Zeia Foods! They are a women-owned, allergy-friendly company that manufactures all their pizza crusts in a gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and nut-free bakery.
- Chocolate sunflower butter: There are a variety of nut-free chocolate butters on the market that are delicious! My current favorite is the 88 Acres dark chocolate sunflower butter. All their products are delicious and made in a top 9 allergen free facility.
- Mini marshmallows: Kraft Jet Puffed are my personal favorite.
- Christmas–colored sprinkles: You can experiment a lot with the toppings! I like to mix and match different types of sprinkles to create a fun texture!
- Candy canes: Any brand works, but I love YumEarth’s allergy-friendly candy canes!
