Disneyland is well-known for being one of the most allergy-friendly travel destinations in the country! I have grown up going to Disneyland in Anaheim since I was a kid and have always had fantastic experiences eating out and finding delicious allergy-friendly food. Below is a compilation of restaurants, ice cream spots, and snack stands that I have personally eaten at over my years visiting Disneyland. Hopefully this guide will help you if you’re planning a Disney trip later this year or just brainstorming for future vacations. Keep reading for some general tips to dining at Disney with food allergies, as well as a list of my favorite allergy-friendly restaurants in Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney!
General Tips for Disney Dining with Allergies
- Pack safe snacks. While Disneyland does have lots of great allergy-friendly restaurants, depending on your allergies it may be hard to find many safe options for in between meals. I recommend being prepared for a long day in the park by bringing along some of your favorite filling snacks like protein bars, jerky, and/or crackers. You are allowed to bring any of your own food into the park and Downtown Disney.
- Download the Disney app and familiarize yourself with the allergy-friendly mobile order dining. The Disney app is a must to easily load your park tickets, get fast passes, and download photos with characters in the park. However, you can also order food in advance at a number of restaurants to avoid waiting in line. You select a time frame to pick up your food, order what you want, and when you arrive at the restaurant, you just need to tap the button “start preparing my order.” Some of these restaurants have a section within the mobile order to order an “allergy-friendly” meal, and these are divided up into gluten/wheat, milk, egg, soy, fish/shellfish, and peanut/tree nut allergy groups. Unfortunately, if you have multiple allergies, you can’t pick more than one allergen group; however, I had a lot of success ordering the peanut/tree nut meal and then alerting a cast-member on site to let the chef know about my gluten allergy before tapping the “prepare my order” button!
- Plan your dining in advance. While the sit down restaurants are the most allergy-aware, they are also the most popular, so reservations fill up far in advance. I highly recommend looking through the list of restaurants and planning out a couple of dinner reservations in advance. I’ve had some of the best allergy dining experiences of my life at some of the spots below and would not have been able to had I not made reservations prior to my trip!

Where To Eat
The 3 main areas of Anaheim’s Disney Park, Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney have a variety of restaurants, snack stands, and treat shops that can accommodate guests with food allergies. Read the list to learn more about each spot and how they accommodate food allergies. You can also take a look at the Google map below to see where these places are located throughout the Anaheim area!
Disneyland
– Main Street
- Carnation Cafe: If you want a delicious allergy-friendly breakfast in the park, Carnation Cafe is your spot! Located at the end of Main Street, it’s the perfect spot to fuel up for a long day at Disney. You can’t order ahead, but staff will provide an allergen menu when you sit down and have the chef come out to the table if you have any questions. They have gluten-free mickey waffles, as well as allergy-friendly pancakes and buns for eggs benedict and breakfast sandwiches. I’ve only ever ordered breakfast here, but they also have a lunch/dinner allergen menu. It is always very busy, so I would highly recommend making reservations prior to your trip.

- Allergen Menu Onsite: Yes
- Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe: This is my favorite spot for lunch in Disneyland! With allergy-friendly mobile order available through the Disney app, it’s very easy to find a safe meal. I usually get the grilled cheese on a gluten-free bun with tomato soup, but they have other sandwiches and salads. Definitely make sure to order an allergy-friendly cookie that’s packaged and made in a facility free of gluten, dairy, and nuts! If you are just allergic to gluten, they also always have gluten-free Mickey macarons in the display case.
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
–Adventure Land
- Tiki Juice Bar: The Tiki Juice Bar only offers two things on the menu: pineapple dole whip and pineapple dole whip floats. Because of this, the entire juice bar is free of the top 8 allergens. Mobile order is available, but there is no option to mark allergies. However, the menu stays the same year-round, so there is no need to worry about potential cross-contamination!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
- The Tropical Hideaway: Located behind the Tiki Room, The Tropical Hideaway is known for its fun dole whip floats and other tropical snacks. They do have items with nuts that rotate into the menu, as well as some savory items with gluten. I only ever order dole whip soft serve, which comes out of its own machine, and request that staff change gloves before preparing my order. The dole whip comes in four flavors: mango, pineapple, raspberry, and lemon, but my favorite is the mango raspberry combo!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
- Bengal Barbeque: This snack stand outside of the Indiana Jones ride offers a variety of meat and veggie skewers and other healthy snacks. There are no nuts present, but if you have a gluten allergy, make sure to request no sauce, as most of the sauces contain wheat. My favorite skewers are the outback vegetable and chieftain chicken (made with no sauce!)
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
–Frontier Land
- Rancho Del Zocalo: This fast-casual Mexican restaurant overlooking Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a great spot for a quick and delicious lunch or dinner. Mobile order is not available, but you can request an allergen menu and discuss safe options with the chef. The menu was recently updated, so if you have eaten here previously, double check with the staff that your meal is still safe for you allergens. Most of the options are gluten-free and nut-free. I love getting the trio of street tacos!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: Yes
-New Orleans Square
- Cafe Orleans: If you are looking for a fancy dinner in Disneyland, definitely make reservations at Cafe Orleans. Make sure to let your waiter know about your food allergies, and they will bring out an allergen menu as well as offer to have the chef help discuss safe options. Before the pandemic, Disney Dining services allowed you to call 48 hours before your reservation and request gluten-free bread be brought to the site for a gluten-free Monte Cristo sandwich! I am unsure if this is still available, but highly recommend inquiring about the sandwich when you make the reservation. They also have many other gluten-free options and very few nuts.
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: Yes
- Blue Bayou Restaurant: Arguably the most famous restaurant in Disneyland, Blue Bayou is located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. If you are wanting to dine here, make sure to make reservations at least a month before your trip! They have an allergen menu that you can request when seated which details dishes safe for allergies. The food is delicious, many of the meals are gluten-free, and there are few nuts!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: Yes
-Fantasyland
- Red Rose Tavern: Red Rose Tavern is a great spot for a casual and quick lunch in Fantasyland. They have a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and lunch items and offer allergy-friendly mobile order through the app. I love getting the burger on a gluten-free bun and gluten allergy safe french fries!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
-Star Wars Land
- Milk Stand: Star Wars Land is a newer area in Disney, and although I have not dined at any of the restaurants, I have ordered the famous blue milk from the milk stand! The milk is available in two flavors, and both are made of a blend of coconut and rice milk and are top 8 allergen free! The milks are a bit of a unique taste but definitely fun to try out if you’re in Disneyland.
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
-Tomorrow Land
- Alien Pizza Planet: Located next to Space Mountain, Alien Pizza Planet has several pizza and pasta dishes that are all nut allergy safe! While their allergy-friendly mobile order doesn’t list many options, if you let the staff know you have allergies, they will have the chef meet with you and prepare you a safe pizza! They have gluten-free & vegan pizza crust alongside plant-based cheese. The pizzas are a little small, so I recommend also grabbing some safe snacks from somewhere else in the park. Although not nut-allergy safe, they also have gluten-free alien macarons!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
- Galactic Grill: This is definitely not my favorite spot to eat at in Disneyland for lunch/dinner; however, it’s a great option for quick breakfast! I love their breakfast sandwich on an allergy-friendly bun! They also have burgers and salads and offer allergy-friendly buns and safe fries. Galactic Grill is located near the Finding Nemo Submarine ride, and there is a wide area of outdoor seating if you have a larger party. It has a smaller kitchen than most Disney restaurants, so I recommend using the allergy-friendly mobile order to avoid waiting in the long lines!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
-Critter Country
- Hungry Bear Restaurant: This is another quick spot for burgers and fries located across from Splash Mountain. They have gluten-free & allergy-friendly burger buns, as well as gluten allergy safe fries and dairy-free cheese. Nothing on the menu contains nuts, but the impossible burger does contain coconut oil, so it is listed as unsafe for peanut/tree nut allergies. I have found their allergy-friendly mobile order is one of the easiest to use at the parks!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
California Adventure
-Buena Vista St.
- Carthay Circle Restaurant: Carthay Circle is a great option for allergy-friendly upscale dining in California Adventure. They have a full allergen menu onsite, and many nut-free and gluten-free options available. While it is upscale, they also have a wide variety of kid-friendly options. I would recommend making reservations in advance as it tends to get busy for dinner!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: Yes
-Cars Land
- Flo’s V8 Cafe: Located in Car’s Land, Flo’s V8 Cafe looks just like it does in the movie and has many allergy-friendly dining options! There are no nuts in the restaurant except the impossible burger (which contains coconut). Their milkshakes come in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry and are listed as safe for nut allergies. They have allergy-friendly burger buns and gluten allergy safe fries, and all the milkshakes are gluten-free as long as you ask for the cookie crumbs (called road gravel!) on top to be removed. Use the allergy-friendly mobile order on the Disney app and eat outside for a beautiful view of the Radiator Springs landscape.
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
-Grizzly Peak
- Smokejumpers Grill: Located off of Buena Vista Street near the Soarin’ Over the World attraction, Smokejumpers Grill is one of my favorite spots for lunch or dinner in California Adventure. The kitchen is nut-free except for the impossible burger, and they have allergy-friendly burger buns, gluten-free fries, and plant based cheese! Since I can have coconut, I am safely able to have the impossible burger loaded vegan chili fries which are incredible and top 8 allergen free! I also LOVE their milkshakes. Their summer seasonal s’mores shake contains graham cracker crumbs, but I was able to get it specially made gluten-free by the chef!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
-Pacific Wharf
- Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill: Cocina Cucamonga is a Mexican grill in the Pacific Wharf area between Car’s Land and Pixar Pier. Almost everything is gluten-free! They do have cashew cheese sauce on one entree. It is usually pretty busy during lunch time, so I order using the allergy-friendly mobile order to avoid the line. I like getting any of their street tacos and the lime-cilantro rice. Definitely try to get a table in the Pacific Wharf area before ordering because they fill up quick.
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
- Lucky Fortune Cookery: Lucky Fortune Cookery is a quick-service Asian eatery located in Pacific Wharf. While Asian food is usually off limits for those with nut allergies, Lucky Fortune is all nut-free! They also have a number of options that are gluten-free and many that are dairy-free. I always order using the allergy-friendly mobile order to avoid the line and double check my meal is safe for my allergies.
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: Yes
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
- Wine Country Trattoria: It’s hard to pick a favorite restaurant in Disney, but if I had to, Wine Country Trattoria would be it! If you love Italian food, this restaurant is definitely for you. They have gluten-free dinner rolls as well as pasta, and lots of dairy-free pasta options. There are also very few nuts in the kitchen. When I dined here in 2019, they brought my meal with an allergy stick and got me fresh olive oil and balsamic to dip my bread into to avoid cross-contamination. The food is delicious, and the staff are all highly trained in accommodating allergies.
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: Yes
-Pixar Pier
- Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats: This spot is a hidden gem for safe treats in California Adventure! There are no nuts at the stand. They have vanilla and chocolate soft serve which both contain dairy but also have a separate machine for lemon dole whip which is top 8 allergen free! The dole whip orders are prepared on the separate side of the counter; however everything is made in the same area, so check with the staff if you have a severe dairy allergy. I love getting their famous Pixar Pier frosty! It’s lemon dole whip, blue raspberry icee, and a cherry served in a cup, and it’s completely free of the top 8 allergens!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
- Poultry Palace: Located across from the Toy Story Mania ride, Poultry Palace serves chicken drumsticks that are gluten-free! Nothing contain nuts, and everything at the stand is gluten-free except for the chimichanga, which is wrapped. I love getting their corn on the cob and chicken drumsticks if I need a super quick lunch on the go!
- Allergy-Friendly Mobile Order: No
- Allergen Menu Onsite: No
Downtown Disney
-Lunch/Dinner
- Naples Ristorante e Bar: If you’re planning on dining in Downtown Disney, definitely make reservations at Naples Ristorante. Their Italian food is delicious and super allergy-friendly! While they don’t have an allergen menu, waitstaff are extremely knowledgable about which options are safe and will alert the chef if anyone in the party has food allergies. There are few nuts, and I love their gluten-free rigatoni!
- Splitsville Luxury Lanes: This dedicated nut-free restaurant, sushi bar, and bowling alley is one of my personal favorite spots in all of Anaheim. Everything on the menu is safe for nut allergies except the desserts, which have cross-contamination warnings. Their menu is clearly labeled with gluten-free symbols to list which options are safe, but it’s important to note that their fryer is not safe for gluten allergies. Two of their sushi rolls are gluten-free, and they also have gluten-free burger buns. One of my favorite meals to get is their grilled salmon!
- Tortilla Jo’s: Tortilla Jo’s is a great spot in Downtown Disney for south-of-the-border casual cuisine! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and are extremely gluten and nut-allergy friendly! Make sure to let the staff know about your allergies, so they can advise you on what options are safe. I love their salads, street tacos, and margaritas!
-Dessert
- Salt and Straw: One of the most famous ice cream shops on the West Coast, Salt and Straw has one of their most popular locations in Downtown Disney. They do have flavors with nuts and gluten but have extremely thorough allergen practices to keep customers safe! They will get a freshly washed scoop, change gloves, and open up a fresh pint of the flavor you want! Staff are also trained to ask all customers if they have any food allergies prior to ordering! I always check the seasonal menu to see if there are many flavors with nuts before going in. If there are only a few, I feel much more comfortable. Definitely assess your level of comfortability, but I have safely enjoyed ice cream here with my severe nut allergies!
